Anne has one play - still in the writing - called LOL. This 2-act play sees a cast of six enjoying a dinner party at the home of Julie. Each of them is single, having been dumped, or having dumped, their long-term partners. They represent a cross-section of modern day society, each considering themselves the innocent party in the split. They assume, wrongly, that Julie's motive in inviting them is to match-make. According to their own level of self-esteem, they eye up the prospects, find them lacking, but as the evening progresses, and the drink flows, they discuss how relationships fail, and minds are changed. The audience is challenged to reconsider prejudices regarding adultery and many other issues that affect the smooth running of relationships. Anyone for leftovers? |
